Grupo La Plana formalises its acquisition of Envases Soler
Grupo La Plana has formalised the purchase of 100% of the shares of the company Envases Soler, located in Crevillente, Alicante, and which specialises in the manufacture, design and development of customised cardboard packaging for multiple markets. During the process, Grupo La Plana received ongoing advice from the legal team of the Valencia branch of the Cuatrecasas law firm.
A family company founded in 1959, Envases Soler began by manufacturing shoe boxes for different footwear factories in Elche, Elda, Alicante and other nearby service areas, and for other important companies in the toy and clothing sector.
In recent years, the company has expanded its operational reach to new markets, cementing an extensive catalogue of different shapes and sizes of ecological and biodegradable packaging made of corrugated and compact cardboard.
Its main product ranges include specific solutions for various sectors of the meat and sweets industry, processed food and beverages, and other formats for the take-away, delivery and street food segments, with practical, functional and certified designs that use inks, varnishes, glues and materials that are completely suitable for use in food contact containers.
In addition, Envases Soler also makes packaging specifically designed and developed for cosmetic articles and for parapharmacy products, footwear and accessories in general, as well as unique boxes and packaging for toys with special finishes that include accessories also made of cardboard.
With over 12,000 square metres of facilities and a staff of more than 60 professionals, Envases Soler has the latest technology in specific offset printing machinery and special finishes, such as printing with inks that dry under UV light (which, together with varnishes, can create glossy-matte effects), thermal or hot stamping, and glossy or matte protective or anti-moisture laminated products, with reliefs or engravings.
Envases Soler is the sixth production plant to join Grupo La Plana, after the purchase in 2021 of the Madrid-based PLV – Primera Línea Visual, which specialises in manufacturing point-of-sale display solutions. This purchase allows the group to significantly expand its already considerable capacity to manufacture offset packaging, gained after the addition of Packaging Igualada to the group in 2017.
With this new acquisition, La Plana Group surpasses 700 employees and continues to meet the objectives set out in its strategic plan to expand and grow in new markets and geographical areas, together with its commitment to promote innovation and investing in cutting-edge technology to increase its line-up of multi-purpose and sustainable packaging products.
